If it was that boring would they still be there to complain about it?! It's content that keeps forums alive and if they think it's boring they should post more.... of course keeping them interested by periodically updating your forum with new features does help. What you should install is determined by the type of people that visit your forum and what the forum is about. An arcade hack is great for gaming forums and for forums with younger members, my members actually voted against the arcade hack. They do love the webpage and guestbook hack though, the Journal hack interested them for a while but it's not frequently used anymore. I also have vBchat which they had nagged me about adding for ages but which they don't really use much now. Adding an article hack has helped my forum, it adds content that keeps my members busy and encourages them to post questions and discussions in the forum with regards to the articles/tutorials they've just read. At the end of the day you should install only the hacks that are suitable for your forum. Your members are complaining but have they stated what features they would like to see? Maybe you don't need to add hacks, maybe you just need to bring in more members.

I'm a firm believer in not using any mods or hacks purely to liven up the board.
Firstly there's the work involved, then there's the possible security compromises, and the main issue to me is that it's just a short term fix.
Unfortunately some people believe it's the site's duty to entertain them, but they're never happy whatever happens.
Cos if it's quiet they say it's boring....and if it's busy they say the place is filling up with rubbish.
I just tell people that it's a community....and it's what they make it!

IT'S WHAT THEY MAKE IT.
I like this one. I will tell them, any idea to make it work faster?

I'm not sure exactly what you mean there mate.
But my advice is to get feedback and ideas on what direction etc that the forum should take.
If you get some good ideas then try them, and tell people that they've got a blank canvas to work with. So they all have a role to play in moving the community onwards....rather than just expect to be entertained.
