The thing I'm wondering about is whether it's worth it to modify an existing vBulletin installation with the new OOP feature looming ahead in vBulletin. It'd be a shame to do all that work and then vB 3.x comes out tommorow. That's why I get frustrated with Jelsoft sometimes, because it's hard to plan the future of your bulletin board when you don't know when the next version will be released.
I was wondering what everyone else is doing.

I'd say it's pretty safe to go ahead and hack. Kier has said that the changes are big enough to potentially put vB 3.x into the beta cycle. Even if they did spring the release up on you, it wouldn't matter because most of the hacks would have to be rewritten considering the core changes that are supposedly being made. Therefore, you'd have to wait a few weeks, unless you would go without hacks until all of them were ported over.

Right now I'm trying to limit myself to smaller hacks, nothing too big. The worst thing in my mind would be to create some huge hack that I had to redo once every file and/or methods are changed around.
