PostGreSQL support would certainly benefit vBulletin, and make it an even stronger product in the forum market.

as far as i know, PostgreSQL is also licensed under the BSD license, meaning you can use said database in any closed source project without having to open source your product.

Oracle support would be so kick ass, but lets start with postgresql and ms sql as I believe those as most asked by customers.

Need to find out more about databases? http://www.answers.com/topic/list-of-database-servers

I hope it will support MS SQL, because it can be much faster

We'd certainly benefit from PostgreSQL and Oracle. If Jelsoft ever want to significantly touch the enterprise market, they need Oracle support. Maybe IBM's DB2 also, although I didn't vote it on the poll.

I would of thought MSSQL would be a big one for the enterprise market ..

I know that would mean I could start using it in my work .. :)

I'd like to see MSSql & Oracle, however, I go by the theory, if it aint broke, don't fix it. :-)

I too would like to see MSSQL support.

Oracle would significantly lower the php code needed to run vBulletin, and would also reduce the amount of load vBulletin takes. I would rather see Oracle Support than Postgresql or MSSQL.

I might take on this coding challenge of creating a modification for vBulletin that enables it for optimal oracle compatibility.
