Our company has a field on the main site for newsletter, people sign up on it and once every 6 months we use that to promote our services.
The forums mail out smaller updates and news, competition and list of articles and other new content, once every 4 months.
Both mails generate quite some error mails that return. Our setup is a pop3 mail that recognizes these emails and deletes them before forwarding the rest over to info@
What would be better is automaticly suspending the account of the bouncing emails. Or for the forum to move it into the 'user waiting validation' usergroup.
If I only wish how, or if only this would be a vBulletin feature.
