Well, today I decided to have a contest on the design/development forum I administer. Now members that register and follow the contest rules can win Half Life 2. I don't write it here so that everyone here can sign up ;) But it might be a good technique to get some members. I'll keep you posted if it brings many new registrations. :D

Bah why redesign your forum looks v/nice as it is
as for getting new members? well wont most ppl try joining just to get a chance of winning HL2 ? then leave once comp is finished im guessing only a handful will stay but good luck man, shame im in the UK & not Austraila

But the aim is that once people start posting and get 'into it', then they might like it there and choose to stay or visit regularly. That's sort of the aim. I agree with you, that some people will only stay in order to win HL2, but that's ok - as long as it perhaps bring a few good ones. :)

Edit: Its still a small community with now 140 members. It has by the way brought 10 members over the last day, and several seems to like it. ;)

Oh yes, and the skin on your forum is lovely. So clean and cut, I love it.
