Hi,
I'm trying to work a good way to integrate articles into the forums, and the front page. Readable and acsessible both to our forum-regulars and for guest just dropping by.
So I want an article display thats both within the forums, and seamingly outside the forum... I have tried with success to duplicate showthread.php and renaming it to article.php, and then duplicating and modifying the postbit template to suit my needs.
But then I need them presented in some way. Have'nt thought of a good way there yet... :) Would be nice if the cmps news block could pull random threads from a designated forum, I'll ask at vbadvanced when I get that far...
A 'featured thread' system would also be needed - like v3articles featured article. Anyone know if there is one around?
I have considered using the v3articles but thats not what my site needs, I have also considered a CMS like mambo or ez - but found that to be abit of a over-kill for the time beeing. The lack of a good vbulletin integration is also a problem there.
Some thoughts, this is a work in progress for me - learning as I go. :D
Dreaming of the vBCMS
But, how have you done it? Or how would you do this?
