OK I've recently come back to vBB after a fair old period away on a different forum system.

My resons for returning were mainly vBB was so configurable and easy to use for both admin's and members.

Now when i left we used 2.x.x think it was 2.5 but its along time back so memorys not that good.

But what i do remember is that there was a huge abundance of free skin's and style/templates for the old 2.x series of vbb.

Now I'm on vbb 3.0.3 and im struggling to find some GOOD free skins or even good paid skins. What happened to the huge skinning community that used to be around? I'm so very not graphically or even colour inclined my self i dont bother even wasting time trying to do it my self im a coder if it has images or colours i dont like it. For me the free skins etc were the best bit about vbb now they're gone I'm wondering if my change was really just for functionality or because i like the customisation you could do to vbb with relative ease

I am sorry to inform you, but vbb isn't the forum software made by Jelsoft. vB is.

I understand that users use vbb a lot, that is how warez releases have been distributed in the 2.x age. And some users abbriviate it incorrect.

vBulletin currently is at version 2.3.5 and 3.0.3 and can be downloaded from the vbulletin.com/members customer area. And purchases here: vbulletin.com/order

You can find free skins on vbulletin.com

Free skins are also available on vBulletinTemplates.com.

vbb is force of habit from calling it that for years wasnt aware of the warez version but still as for the free templates yeah im aware of both url's my point is though that the quality of the skins and the amount of resource sites offering skins has lowered considerably since the old days. I'm also finding that modifying 3.0.3 is quite alot harder than the old 2.x series

vBB is also a totaly differnt peice of software, and I resent the fact that the quaility of skins has gone down hill considering i released most of them at vBulletin.com :p

And very beautiful they are too!

Well, I personally find Evil to be a bit hard on the eyes, and my members think I added it as a joke, but yeah. :)

(Apologies if Evil isn't yours man, I have installed a few of the ones you released, the Classic one is nice, and if you made something along the lines of Power Blue, that rocks too).

Yeah, Zachery has been busting his a** releasing skins lately so people can have a good variaty to choose from. They are default and slightly modded but that makes it easier for people just learning vB. You can always build off of what is there. I have found a few very, very nice skins and have learned from them how to do my own..and the skinning community that "used" to be around is still around but what people tend to forget is that building an "extreme skin" as you called it takes a lot of time..some poeple think those things are thrown out like banners or something..It takes time...also alot of skinners got tired of getting ripped and walked away....

now that i can accept the fact of people taking their work and such removing copy rights and other things thats just out of order tbh.

I'd really like to get my hands on a skin something along the lines of yaxay.com but nobody seems to be upto the task

Lucky the creator of the Yaxay skin isn't around anymore, mister rippoff, there are many that are up the task or even better, just look around and don't look on sites that sell $35 skins, but talk to guys that make unique skins and be aware that you have to open your pocket ;)
