did vbnl go down earlier today, or was it just my internet playing up.

i also couldn't connect to IRC server (infact i still can't)

irc server crashed i think, i can't connect either.
maybe the server had a restart but the ircd didn't return properly.

LoL! I thought something is wrong with my PC or my connection maybe, and even called up my ISP to check on that issue. But till now then I know that actually I'm just making a fool of myself.

Something must've been borked on Sirenhost's part :)

It was as expected: server reboot and forgot to start up ircd. service wasn't added to startup script yet.
