Hi there,

I need some low-level help and I hop that I can get the exact solution for my problem, because I been writing in many forums regarding to my problem.

I've upgraded my forum from version 3.0.1 to 3.0.3 after upgrading the forum I could not login into my Admin CP. After I enter my admin username and password it will say: "Thank you for logging in, Montada", after this it will go back to the previous page and ask me to re-enter my username and password again,.... and again,..... and again ...infinity.

This is what I did to solve my problem:
1- DELETED all cookie files, and re-login again.
2- Used another PC.
3- used deferent web browser ex. Explorer, Netscape, Avanta.
4- Uploaded version 3.0.1 files and tried to login.
5- Empted the following tables and replaced them with a new tables with default data which comes with original forum database:
access + cpsession + session + setting + settinggroup
6- used tools.php file.

All those steps does not help in my problem, and I'm still can't login.

Could you ALL help me in this please :)

Thank you in advance,
Montada

Did you change your cookie settings in the ACP?

There's a script on vb.com in a thread (you'll have to search) that you can download and it will fix your cookie settings - and you'll be able to log in.

Good Luck. :)

I've solved the problem by uploading this file to root forum folder and run it.

Thank you for your support

I'm glad that you got it fixed.

I also had a similar problem: I changed the cookie settings in the vb3 ACP thinking I needed to change it since I was installing a test board online, and I couldn't log in. Then someone directed me to that file. :)

It's obvious that you can't distribute the files from vBulletin.com on other web sites. Sorry, removed it from your post :) Feel free to link to the attachments on vBulletin.com so only licensed members can download it.

I'm really sorry dear, I forgot about the license thingy.

Anyway, I got another problem :(
Now, the additional usergroup does not work at all. I used to have a usergroups which has 100 Private Messages, so when I want give 100 PMs to my member I just add him/her to be additional member in this group. Now, all those members have only default number of PMs which it's 50 only!!

Do you think this error because I reset setting table as I mentioned above?

You need to go to Manage Usergroups - and edit the usergroup. In the PM section, you can edit how many messages they can store, if they can use PM tracking, if they can deny read reciepts, and how many users they can send PMs to at a time.

Thank you for support,

What I realized that additional usergroup does not work with the main admin account. But, other usergroups accounts does work.

They probably have it that way because the admin is the complete controller of the board, so doesn't really need an additional usergroup for additional functionality.

Are they in different usergroups, or are they in the same root admin group?
