Looking for some information to promote my new forum, however I see mostly questions. Where can we jump to in order to see info related to this?

Currently there are no sticky topics in this forum..

What information are you looking for. :)

Also if you search the forums for Search Engine Optimization (http://www.vbulletin-fans.com/search.php?searchid=6019)

You may find exactly what you/re looking for..

Just some how-tos, basic info to get started etc. I realize someone would have to expend the time for such documentation. I appreciate your help.

I came across the Subdreamer ad at the top of the page. It looks promising.

I do have an odd problem, though. I'm attempting to use the Web Tools from google in order to analyze my site, which I know isn't really indexable as is, because I just installed vBulletin. I uploaded the html file as google named it to the root directory of my ftp account, and it's not showing up on my site. 404 not found reports google, as well as my own browser. Anyone know what's going on?

TIA

You will probably not see yourself in the Google pages for quite a while - you are new and there are millions of other sites competing for the same phrases. If you want to target some of the lesser phrases that there are less searches for - Google might start showing you for some of those. Don't be surprised for it to be a year or more before you see your major keywords appearing on Google.

For example, if you were looking at 1 million sites using the same phrases - and there were 100 of them that had not only been around for 5 years or more, but had links coming into them from good sources - and you had a site that was 6 months old with very few links and not much new on it compared to the others - which one would you check out first? Wouldn't you go with the one with experience? That's what Google is doing. And, unfortunately for new sites, that means you have to hang in there and keep plugging away. Time will work in your favor. :)
