Do moderators know my email or password?
Can they sell email list to other people?

They shouldnt know your password or anyone else's.

And if your email is publically displayed, then I dont think there is a way to prevent them from selling it.

yeah, if they have permission set by the admin they can go into the modcp/ and view your profile and write down your email address. Staff on a forum should not use member mail addresses for third party things. We don't do that on our site for example.

It would be pretty hard for someone to make any profit anyway. They'd need to spend days and days to manually copy down emails to make even $5 ;)

Besides, you shouldn't give staff positions to people who you don't trust!

I think vb Passwords are double salted and I doubt there are many pc's in the world that would be able to break the encryption anytime soon.

Shouldn't there be some sort of privacy agreement that is included by default in vBulletin? As far as I know the sale of emails is illegal unless the user agrees that it may be sold off to third parties.

I've been to lots of forums in my life and have never seen anything like "Do you allow us to sell your address to the third party?"

I think I can understand what the OP is worried about, the number of spammy emails is getting bigger and bigger every day.

only the first admin can know only your e-mail , but your password is still hidden. For sell them, they can, so watch out in what sites you join..!!!
