sarahk 12th December 2006, 11:26 AM Joined DP and a bunch of other forums. Noticed that the ones I enjoyed the most were all running the same software...
Onimua 13th December 2006, 01:00 AM A forum I used to frequent had it (back in the vB 2.2.x days). Didn't quite like it until vB 3.0.x though. :)
Robert 13th December 2006, 08:32 AM A friend told me about a dance forum and so I joined it (didn't know or care what powered it).
Then I decided to start my own forum and thought I would see what powere the other forum I was a member of as I like the functionality. It was vB so I bought it and the rest, as they say, is history. :)
AdolFF 15th December 2006, 03:24 PM I think that vBulletin is the best forum software. I'd like to create my own forum and I'd like to do it with vBulletin. I think that all profi forums are powered by vBulletin.
Chroder 15th December 2006, 10:45 PM It's hard to run any forum and not find out about vBulletin. When I was first getting started with the whole forum scene, the buzz was all phpBB and vB. Then IB came out, and then I was a pure IB fanboy until I won a free vB license and started playing with vB3 during beta 6 I think.
King Kovifor 29th December 2006, 08:10 PM I discovered vBulletin through joining a forum... the owner needed some HTML help on vBulletin (back then I messed with the vBACP Demo, and he wasn't the coder he is now) so I created a small hack. Then we got to know each other and now I'm admin on a lot of his forums and the rest is history.
Ati 16th March 2007, 01:30 PM I used to have a phpBB forum, but having to upgrade almost each week because of a new security issue was driving me crazy... :) I looked around for alternative forums, and after quite a bit of research, ended up having vBulletin. :) This was more than a year ago, and I'm happy with it ever since. I'm even proud to have a professional, paid forum, not just one of those freebie ones. ;)
Joe Gronlund 16th March 2007, 04:08 PM I found out via UBB when vBulletin first started, at first i did/nt like vBulletin to be honest.
Then it started to grow on me..
saskia 26th March 2007, 03:28 PM Forum life is really absorbing and there are lots of things to learn, I have to attend different seo forums because for my job, so I decided to add vbulletin to learn more about forums.
amoxycillin 28th March 2007, 10:23 AM The very first forum I joined happened to be running vB (2.something)
I initially started using ikonboard, then changed to phpBB (then got hacked not ONCE but TWICE!!) , and finally (recently) upgraded to vB.
always wanted vB though. It's look and style on every single forum that runs it just looks really sleak. :)

Deathbyalfonzo 3rd July 2007, 07:38 PM Well, my first website was using phpbb, then one of my members suggested vbulletin, so i checked it out.
Mephisteus 3rd July 2007, 11:29 PM I was running UBB, a friend ran vB. I saw vB. I switched. This happened about six years ago, before that I had a year of phpBB.
Abizaga 11th July 2007, 11:31 PM well for me i browsed the internet..the i search in the google about Lervel up guides on my archer..
soon i enter a forum that was a vbulletin..onrpg.com

soon 2 years now i began creating free forums and wanting a vbulletin..:D
I joined a website called "Clock Crew" and I was curious what the host was and I saw Vbulletin got curious about it and started thinking it was awesome! So, as a result, here I am. :)
Sephiroth 22nd July 2007, 09:45 PM I joined a vBulletin known as Zelda Classic Network (defunct) and it was powered by vBulletin 2, of which one of the non-stock features I really liked, was a user-option to have a little 16x16 pixel icon show up next to the user's username. And poking around the Internet, I've come to find several forums were running vBulletin, and that's what got me started. Then I started my own site and ran it on IPB (1.3) until mid-2004, when I finally managed to get myself a vB license.. Never been happier. ;)
Conversion from IPB to vB was a breeze!
Anthony89 25th July 2007, 03:29 AM A forum I visited regularly was on phpBB for the longest and the admins converted it over a year ago. That's how I heard about it.
Deathbyalfonzo 25th July 2007, 09:48 PM I was a member of a vbulletin forum, decided i liked the software, bought it.
Distance 28th July 2007, 09:25 PM I was a member on a vB forum, then made my own! :D
Kaitlyn2004 6th August 2007, 04:59 AM I can't say for sure how I found out about vBulletin, but it was probably through it being used on the larger boards I frequent and randomly it popping up. I knew about it for a while and continued to use phpBB mainly because free vs cost... but ever since I switched I haven't looked back!
