I switched from The planet to ServInt a few days ago, and i must say i am very happy that i did.
The server is just as fast, reliable, and i have full root access/reboot access.
The best part is it's 1/3rd the price of the planet.
It's a VPS, not a dedicated server, but i really dont think i need the resources a dedicated server offers right now..

I think you aren't so long with them to make any conclusions as for their service IMO.

Good luck with your new host! What don't you like about the Planet? You mentioned their price, but pricing is a tricky question...

There is nothing that i really didnt like about The Planet, i just didnt need a dedicated server anymore.
A VPS does everything i need for my site, using a dedicated server was kind of overkill.

I am glad you like your new host. I have used the Planet, and do find them a little expensive. I now use LayeredTech for my dedicated boxes, and A Small Orange for my shared spaces.

Have you changes your host just because of the high prices? Or anything else?

I had some expierence with Planet their prices aren't expencive for me. They have inert support because of their magnitude. I don't use cheap hostings at the moment (I use ********.biz and ******.net), but i get what I pay for

I recently switched to HostMaven as my previous was awful and caused a rollback of data from over a month before, continuous downtime and no control over the versions of php and mysql installed, even if I mention big security flaws they didn't care.
