I've had trouble with users trying to register with an AOL email address (confirmation email gets returned) so I banned that email. I don't ban Yahoo type email accounts since at least the email gets there. In the spam box of course, but it's there.

Anyhow, just wondering what emails you guys have trouble with and how you deal with it. So far, it has been nothing but headaches with people emailing me asking why their email is banned. And they still don't get it after an explanation. Not to mention I have a thread ( http://www.dmctalk.com/showthread.php?t=2068 ) that explains this.

What's weird is I never had this problem when I was using phpbb. I guess that's the only thing I miss from phpbb. :D

If you are having issues with your emails going into spam folders, then just use vBulletin's excellent phrase manager and change what the content of the email is. If you never had issues with phpBB, then check which phrase they used and re-write the one vB uses. It might be as simple as changing the content of the emails so it doesn't get flagged as spam :)

Anyway, I don't have many issues with emails. There are the spammers that use the free services, but it hasn't got to a point where I need to actually ban the entire service.

Thanks for the reply. Can you please tell me which phrases (confirmation and subscription emails) I would have to edit?

Thanks.

Yes, but that could be because of people using those accounts for spamming. I've actually only got one spam posting in three years.

I'm not sure exactly. There is a search feature in the phrase manager, just search for some of the text in the emails and it'll come right up :D
