So, who does everyone use as a Domain Registrar and why?

I use namecheap as they are... cheap, and accept paypal :)

Best domain registrar ever! They're excellent. I've only had a problem with them once when for some reason my paypal funds didn't enter my account. I sent them off an email with the transfer ID's, and the funds appeared in my account :cool:

Then there's GoDaddy who is the total opposite. GoDaddy is registrar hell :mad:

i tried godaddy once because they were offering some cheap domains that i could afford, wouldn't let me pay because i dont have a CC or bank account attached to paypal (bank refuses to allow paypal to attach) and godaddy was forcing me to pay subscription even though i chose to pay single payments... that was one of my many rants on IRC that day :P

Yes, but I like their services. I also chose them for a long time ago when I was empoyed at a webhotel, so it's a kind of a "recommended site", which is also the reason why I trust them and still register domains there. :)

I buy all mine through namecheap aswell, their control panel is spot on, the prices aren't bad and paying with paypal makes it 10 times more convenient.

We have Namecheap's fans here almost. But nobody mention Moniker.com. I've been studying their offers, like pricing and their whois privacy protection for 4$ per year.

I have been using Go-Daddy for my .com names, but I have to use an Aussie registra for my .com.au ones. I use to use Melbourne IT, but they charge around $140 for 2 years registration. But I have now started using SmartyHost and they only Charge $49.95 for the same registration period. :)

I get all my domains from domainrightnow.com
They have some of the best deals that I know.. They are giving away .com domains for only $7 which is a better deal than the other domain registrars

I use namecheap or godaddy, sometimes I will use a different one if it's like a .99c domain or something.

I use GoDaddy.com. Been very happy with them since I switched from register.com a few years back. Here's a tip for new .com registrations.

Search for "cheap domains" on google.com
One of the top results is a sponsored link to GoDaddy.com for $6.95 instead of $8.95.

Basically, you save a couple bucks by using their advertised link.

I use 123-reg.com which isn't the cheapest, but it provides me with a control panel that is robust and thanks to its size (parent company is a huge ISP in the UK and they recently bought HostEurope), my domains propagate within minutes.

I'll buy the domain and set the nameservers info, log in to my dedicated server and create the account for the new domain, click on the domain, and it's live. That's worth the extra few bucks to me! :)

As for me I also use namecheap.com. Nice company IMO with no issues.
