Folks-
I just tried to report a post on my test forum and saw no net effect. What did the software do? Is there a "has_been_reported" flag that is set in the post record?

There's a vB option that decides what happens. By default, all users who have the ability to moderate the post (mods, admins) will get an email. But you can switch the email off and make it create a new thread if you wish, or both.
The options are listed in the User Infractions & Post Reporting Options option group.

okay, so I still have a question...
Is there a "hasBeenReported" bit that is set? Is there a way to test for it in a conditional?

No unfortunately not. This is a feature that I'd like to see as well. It would be useful to either just remove the report post button for a post that was reported, or if you were using the report-as-post, that another reply be added or something.

It would be useful to either just remove the report post button for a post that was reportedThat, or deactivate it and grey it out. What i was thinking of was using a conditional to apply a different css class to the threadbit, so a staff member's attention would be called to the thread when browsing. But then I'd need some kind of reported-but-handled flag <shrug>

You get a email, and all the mods get a email

VB option determines what happens. I think you are in moderation que. Your post will come after some time. Hope for the best man......
