Folks-
There are a couple of items displayed on vB pages, and I wonder if they matter to anyone.
1. # of views--do you care? might be interesting as an admin, but is this a value regular members use/care about?
2. Announcement poster--seems to me that announcements should come from "the management" and that regular members need not/should not know which staff member posted them. As an admin, i want to know (if more than one person has the capability).
What do y'all think?

On one style I've made, I've actually removed the announcement poster... all that shows up the title of the announcement and the date change.
As for views... lets me know if people are reading it or not, especially if it's something important and/or a sticky. ;)

Both are a "yes I care" for me. Views is like replies, it shows how active/popular the thread is. It's just information that I like. Announcement poster -- also information I like.
Not like they are detrimental to the forum experience, so I don't see any reason why to remove them

A admin I care about both values, as a guest - I do not, as a member I don't care about views, unless the posts are mine. And I believe the announcement should say who wrote it, but in the listing it could just be the announcement, as long as the announcement itself says Author: somewhere.

The announcement thing, I don't care.
The views, I like. I run a board of 70+, and the opinion there is split (about 60/40) about the views showing. Most like it, but some would rather not know. They think it becomes a "contest" sort of thing, instead of just useful information. Personally, I find it useful information.

I think it is very important to display thread read count.
1. For Members who had created a new thread, hoping for a reply, it matter very much for them. Every piece of thread viewing is motivating for the thread starter. My Members once they had a fight. In the fist of fury one wrote "Look who is fighting, the one who's thread has only 30 views is discussing with the one who has 300 views" ;)
2. It also helps you know on a longer run, which thread is generating more responses.
