On your own site what are the rules for bumping threads? I believe that if a thread is really older then a year it should just not be bumped, users should start a new conversation and perhaps just link to it. If a thread is a few months old I don't really mind, as long as it is not a 'oh tnx!' post and really a more productive post that really constributes to the conversation.

I think if a thread is a few hours old and users start to bump it to give it attention .. that's inpatient behaviour and not done. People will respond to it eventually, at least let it wait a day before replying, right?

What are your thoughts about this?

Hmm. This isn't a big issue, but I usually run a 24 hour rule.

I hardly find that people are bumping, but I do run into it :) Thanks for the feedback so far, I hope more will reply soon.
