Sometime during the next week or two, I'll be purchasing a vBulletin and pro style license. This will be my first ever forum (I've set up a couple of phpBB forums but never got any further than messing about with them). As vBulletin is new to me, I wanted to ask you people, the fans, what hacks or tweaks you use and would recommend to me. It would be good if you could include a brief description as to what they do and if you have them running on your board, maybe a link so I can view them?
I can't wait to purchase vBulletin! :D

Welcome to the community. I too was very excited with the purchase of my very first vB.
With vB 3.5, they now have plugins for hacks, which means many hacks don't require you to edit your code. Which also means you can try them out and just unplug them if you don't like it. Which is great!
Anyway, I use a lot of Kirby's plugins over at vBulletin.org (I think he is called Andreas now). He is a quality coder, and his plugins usually just enhance features or add new ones. Like allowing you to set a forum to order threads alphabetically, etc, or send a PM to new registrants.

I like Paul M's hacks. Especially his Users who have visited, and posted today. I find them really useful. I also like a lot of Zero Tolerance's hacks, like his AJAX vBShout one.
Hope this list helps you a bit. Just go to vbulletin.org and look in the different forums to see if you like any of the hacks there.
