Floris every time i come To your site i see The proxy is banned however it is my ISP force Me to use Proxy and i'm sure other poeple have the same problem so that why u dont see poeple posting..Interesting point.

I initially wanted to ban proxies too, but I have a lot of Geeks on my forum (and before you say that is the pot calling the kettle black, I am not a Geek. I just have an affinity with computers ;)) and they all insisted that they have to use a proxy for one reason or another and that if I ban them then they can't post.

I don't like proxies as it makes banning a member just about impossible (I agree that even if you do ban proxies it is still hard to enfore the bannig of a specific member, but try banning someone when they can use an Anonymizing Proxy Server ).

What are others thoughts?

I haven't had to ban anyone on my current site yet. No one hardly even comes to my forums :(

Well, I just visited, but only as a guest.

Nice site. I would probably load the NDSDesignz christmas style which is on your portal to your forum though. ;) Keep everything more consistent.

Yeah, we are still waiting for the designers of NBS to finish converting it to vBulletin 3.5 lol.

I would offer, but it seems to be my week for getting turned down for assistance. :(

Nah thats ok, I think they are almost done with it. I know they have been working on it, but haven't had a chance to talk to the rest of the staff to see if it's done.

people who say i cant surf without a proxy most of the time are lying. and whats the real need to go through an anonymous one if u have something to hide (like your ip address) then what are they doing on the internet. if they are involved in something illegal then its not your choice that they are banned. i banned 3 proxy ips on one of my forums and bam all the trouble with it stoped. they sent me alot of crappy emails about it whining and complaining and i told them just get another proxy. but other than that users have to do something for me to ban said proxy but once i ban it i wont unban it

Well I do think we should allow proxies because there are some cases when there is a problem with the ISP (like mine...) We need to use proxy servers to speed up the connection... Because I think the current connection of the ISP has a problem in it
