Hey, Kura.
Best of luck with the new forums. I tracked you here from vb.org looking for answers on the "miserable users" hack. It does not appear to function in 3.0 Gold.
Is the problem on my end?
Are you gonna re-post it here?
Thanks-
Rich

I'm going to post an HTL version of it here, fairly soon.
I'll look into possible issues with vB3 Gold, but I think the problem may instead lie on your end indeed. Did you double-check everything? You have to edit the code (that you add) to make it work with your specific membergroup id (of the group you've made as Miserable users).

The only edit I saw that was necessary was the UserGroup and I'm certain I did that correctly.
Possible cookie problem? We've seen those.

Do you have multiple styles?

Resolved. I saw another thread where someone had multiple start rows in their DB. You suggested a revert/reinstall. I did that and it works fine. GREAT tool! Thanks much.
This may be due to parent/child styles. I have 2. they had been separate, but one was later moved to child status.

RichI can't get Miserable Users to work with 'Gold' either. Could you explain to me what you did to get it working?

Majik-
The install is real simple....just one paste. Make certain to substitute the correct UserGroup ID that references your Miserable Group. Unless you, too, have a problem with php caching, you've already gone past my expertise.

And make sure to have the code in ALL of your styles, of course! Otherwise, miserable users that are using a style that doesn't have the Miserable Users code in its phpinclude_start template (or in its parent's phpinclude_start template), they won't be treated as miserable users! :)
